I have commented briefly in the thread, "form your own opinions", but I feel I need to reiterate my disgust that the poster, "scared" (a part time teacher at Marton, by her own admission) was posting under three different usernames yesterday, in order to make it appear that there were more people supporting her views than there actually were.
No wonder she quickly removed posts, once she realised that admin were onto her! If I was relying on support from somebody like this, I would be very worried.
If this person is indeed a part time teacher, it doesn't take much to narrow it down to three or four possibilities..... _________________ EVENTUALLY THE TRUTH WILL OUT, JUSTICE WILL BE DONE.
Posted: Tue Feb 14, 2006 1:14 pm Post subject: Debates
I must add a cautionary note to the post from admin regarding this debate:
Firstly – let us agree on what we are discussing on this “discussion forum”. Basically it falls between two camps: those who are happy with the current situation at Marton Primary School, and those who are not. Two opposing points of view is a recipe for debate, and that is all that matters. No one should be trying to force their opinions on others, and while there are (so far) a greater number of people on record as having stated their firm opinions as being “unhappy”on this site, it would be a pretty pointless exercise continuing if we were not able to encourage others to state an opposing view.
Secondly, we also need this forum, and all the viewpoints raised on it, to be viewed by people who do not have any set opinions at all. This started out as a purely local problem affecting one school, but it seems to me that we are now into a wider environment. There have been deliberate attempts by people in authority to close down this site, or to stop us holding a public meeting – so our freedom of speech has been threatened. Financially, the costs of this issue have continued to escalate, and it is inevitable that other schools in the borough are starting to be affected. I was particularly pleased to see postings from Duncan yesterday. He is not a Marton parent or a Marton teacher – but he has a valid interest and a valid viewpoint. We need to encourage those who are affected to listen to BOTH sides of the argument, and to make up their own minds. That is why it is so important to stick to proven facts, and I would suggest to admin that we could include a “locked” post somewhere that itemises the facts that have so far been established, so that we do not have to keep repeating them on separate postings.
Finally, I am grateful to admin for reporting on the link between “scared”, “concernred” and “hs” – but I would add that the IP address merely indicates that the same PC has been used on each occasion. That could mean that three people within one house could all use the same PC and legitimately give different identities. Having said that, in this case, we had one who admitted to being a teacher (part time), and the others professing to be parents! Personally, I think it a highly unlikely situation where two (apparently unconnected) parents are in the same place on the same day, posting on the same subject as a teacher who just happens to be home with them that day, and also teaching at the same school where their children attend!!
Think about it: The previous evening I had invited Mrs Coupe herself to post on the web-site in her own defence… Now I wonder if that IP address could be pin-pointed to a particular PC on school premises?
