I think i am quite a fair person. I only make statements/comments i know are true and can be substantiated by fact. Previously these have been newsletters sent out, sats results, ofsted reports, events i have witnessed for myself, etc. I think you get my point.
I find it astonishing then that Marton place an advert in the Gazette for its open evenings, stating what a 'caring, friendly' school it is. Also how high the standard of education is.
Did the person responsible for this advert have a two plus year leave of absence from Marton? Have the Ofsted report and supply teacher cover for last years Year 6 children been hidden from them?
Try telling those staff who have left or are trying to leave how friendly and caring it is. When colleagues you have worked with for years can suddenly view you and you're opinions as nothing.
If the advert had been placed a few years ago i would not of had to question its contents.

I have not seen the advert Tracey but I agree with you. When Mrs Lancaster was head she didn't need to put adverts in the papers to get children there was even a waiting list!I wonder how much this advert cost?Another expense for the school or is it the LEA?More money down the drain.Could you tell us when the advert was in the paper and exactly what the advert said I'd like to know?Friendly and caring that's how it used to be not any more.If it's so caring why are parents still removing their children?Anyway the advert smacks of desperation to me.

firstly let me apologise, it isn't for an open evening. It's for open days DURING school hours. This is the direct quote :

'We are a friendly, welcoming school offering a high standard
of education in a caring environment.'

There is nothing more i can add.

Are they allowed to advertise something which isn't true ? They have no evidence to show that they provide a high 'standard of education' - all the evidence during the last year says it is a poor standard, like Ofsted and SATs.
There is also plenty of evidence on this site that it is not a caring school either.

“Marton Primary School prepares for a brighter future!”

There have been occasions in the past twelve months when I might have been seen as the Number One Critic of the present management structure at Marton Primary School, but not this time…

There have been times when Councillors, the Chair of Governors and even the Director of Children’s Services himself have felt that the public image of the school had been damaged by the comments of the Action Group. But not on this occasion…

I congratulate Mrs Coupe and her team on an amazing coup last week (no pun intended…) They almost trebled the number of families visiting school for their Open Days! Last year: only four families - this year: ELEVEN.

I imagine this will have sent Mr Turner into a dizzy spin, and no doubt there is now much excitement among the school governing body at this promising turn of events. This means that the loss of another Year 6 child to Hawes Side Primary this term is already likely to be countered by the prospect of a record intake in Reception Class next September.

Mrs Coupe has also managed to explain that the somewhat unorthodox way in which (most) of last year’s Year 6 parents received their SATS results was merely an administrative oversight, and therefore of no real interest to anyone unless they have children at Marton Primary School… Clever move, that. And the most reassuring part is that David Lund is perfectly happy about it all – just as he was when that awful woman got suspended last year.

Ah well – we can all sleep soundly in our beds after all!

And that is the end of this week’s fairy tale: Goodnight Children, everywhere!
