I wrote this poem for our leavers assemby july 2005.

SEVEN YEARS AT MARTON by Jack Swann-Connor age 11

When I started in Mrs Cluit's,
I simply shook with fright,
But Mrs Lancaster was there,
She smiled and I was alright,

When I started in Mrs Marron's,
I thought it would be hard,
But Mrs Lancaster was there,
She said I would go far,

When I started in Mrs Pyatt's,
I thought I wouldn't cope,
But Mrs Lancaster was there,
She filled my heart with hope,

When I started in Mrs Reidy's
I thought it's not for me,
But Mrs Lancaster was there,
She showed me what I could be,

When I started in Miss Tye's,
The work was harder than before,
But Mrs Lancaster was there,
She knew I could ahieve more,

When I started in Miss Houghton's,
Things really did get tough,
But Mrs Lancaster was there,
And it didn't seem so rough,

When I started in Mr Farley's,
I found it was all different,
Not the school or teachers,
But somebody was missing,

The person I respected most,
Who made our school like home,
She wasn't going to be there now,
OH NO! I'm all alone,

I studied hard I did my best,
For soon the SAT's were due,
Sir and Miss supported me,
They knew what I could do,

Now I have my school report,
and everyone is clapping,
16 A's and 3 straight 5's I'm very, very happy,
Thanks to all my teachers,
Right throughout the school,
But Mrs L you are the best you're ultra, super cool.

I remember all the happy times I had at Marton and it makes me sad that my brother and 2 sisters arn't going to be at Marton because Mrs Coupe spoiled a really fantastic school.

These are all my own thoughts and I feel sorry for all the children who are still at Marton and who wont have the fantastic teachers that I had
Mrs Alderson, Mrs Reidy, Mr Richardson,Mrs Pyatt, Mrs Cluit and of course MRS LANCASTER.

BY JACK SWANN-CONNOR.
