Unhappy StaffWell it seems to be very busy again on the forum.
I have to say that things do not seem to be getting any better in school with nobody ever knowing what should or is going to be happening.
The management team of Head and Deputy seem to be going through a bad patch. Again! They can be seen arguing with each other on a regular basis, and even deliberately not speaking to each other - something that never happened before 2004.
The sick rate seems to be growing again. I would guess that on average, there are usually 6 staff off at any one time. With OFSTED looming, everyone seems to be in a panic. The LEA advisors had a cursory glance at lessons and will no doubt inform Councillors of the satisfactory progress being made etc. etc.
A lot has happened since that first shocking action of David Lund removing Mrs Connor just because she questioned what was going on with her children’s education at Marton.
I will have to be careful what I post, as there is a certain person, who I won’t name, who would like to out me.

Thanks for your ongoing contributions to this site. I was worried that you had been bullied into wearing a gag. Your comments have been interesting and informative. I would also like to congratulate you as it seems that the above post was the 1000th post on this website (significantly more if you add the posts from the previous website). This is clearly an indication of the interest in this important subject. Keep up the good work.

Thank YouI too would like to thank you for your contribution to the site. This may sound hypocritical as I am the person who requested you remove a certain post but I had my reasons for that. I do however welcome contributions from everyone connected with Marton School.
One of the reasons for my absence from these boards is because I have been the subject of a Standards Board investigation into a series of allegations made against me by someone connected with Marton School. I am unable to speak further about this matter for a few more days and until my legal representitives have finalised their advice.
These actions, whilst meant to dissuade my involvement with this forum, have had the opposite effect. I intend to maintain an independant stance on this forum but I will take appropriate action against anyone trying to bully me into keeping quiet. I will not be intimidated and will fight for all the staff and teachers at Marton who like Jackie are feeling intimidated. As a CSA we preach an intolerance of bullying. It is unacceptable for our children to be bullied and it is also intolerable for our teachers, Staff and volunteers to be bullied too so any allegations should be investigated thoroughly.
Once again I repeat that I am available to discuss events at Marton on a confidential basis so don't hesitate to contact me. regards, Cllr. Jon Bamborough

Guess Who?I wonder if anyone would like to guess who it was that made that complaint against Councillor Bamborough? No doubt Jon will inform us in his own time, but do please note the pattern here:
Who was it who tried to intimidate staff at the school soon after arriving in September 2004?
Who was it who sent the police after me in June 2006 for posting on this website?
Who was it who attempted to have me disciplined at work last week for something similar?
No prizes for guessing correctly on this occasion – just the satisfaction of knowing you can spot a bully by their habits.

Standards BoardAlas, I am unable to confirm who made the complaint as the Standards Board say it is illegal for me to do so!!! Below is a case summary, I am not allowed to reveal much more than this but I'm sure a keen reporter would be able to get to the bottom of it!!

It was alleged that Blackpool borough councillor Jon Bamborough behaved unprofessionally by becoming involved in a local action group with aims opposed to those of the council.
It was also alleged that Councillor Bamborough made inappropriate postings on the website run by the action group, including a confidential document, and asked questions and gave interviews on their behalf.
The Ethical Standards Officer found that a number of the postings on the website gave cause for concern. However, the Ethical Standards Officer considered that Councillor Bamborough could not be held responsible for the postings of others, and noted that Councillor Bamborough viewed some of those posting on the website as “crackpots”. The Ethical Standards Officer found no evidence that Councillor Bamborough had posted confidential documents on the site.
It was further alleged that Councillor Bamborough gave a copy of a posting from the site to the chief executive and indicated that he wanted to discuss its contents with him. Councillor Bamborough allegedly did this without confirming the accuracy of the posting or checking that the person named in the posting was happy for him to discuss the matter with the chief executive.
The Ethical Standards Officer noted that Councillor Bamborough took immediate steps to rectify the damage caused by the posting as soon as he realised that it was factually inaccurate, particularly the enormous distress caused to the person identified in the posting. The Ethical Standards Officer also noted that Councillor Bamborough tried to get the posting removed from the website.
The Ethical Standards Officer found that, in the circumstances of this case, no action needed to be taken.

The allegation in this case relates to paragraphs 2(b) and 4 of the Code of Conduct. Paragraph 2(b) states that a member must "treat others with respect". Paragraph 4 states that "a member must not in his official capacity, or any other circumstance, conduct himself in a manner which could reasonably be regarded as bringing his office or authority into disrepute".

So, let me just see if I have this straight....
Someone can make a complaint about a Councillor to the Standards Board, in whatever capacity, making entirely subjective allegations based on nothing more than opinion and HAVE THEIR IDENTITY PROTECTED?
They are able to put an Elected Representative (from the other end of the town and who has down more for the school than the TWO Councillors responsible for the area) through months of misery, investigation and having to defend what are entirely honourable actions and still not have the backbone to offer an apology?
What happened to the notion of personal responsibility and standing up for what you truly believe in? Do we now live in a world where someone can run to the Authorities, whisper some utterly baseless allegations in their ears and run off again into the night without even having the balls to back up the claims you are making about a person to that same persons face?
This is an absolute travesty but I'll leave this quote from Teddy Roosevelt from a speech he made at the Sorbonne. It was entitled Citizenship in a Republic and this part should be read and read again to Cllr. Bamboroughs' accuser.

On just one thread we have three posters who have been subject to intimidation or bullying in order to stop them expressing their own views. I would say it's unbelievable, but, in all honesty, nothing is unbelievable in this whole situation any more. Things which would have shocked me a couple of years ago, no longer surprise me. They sadden me, but no longer shock. I have seen, heard and read so many underhand and corrupt things since following the goings on at Marton School, that I really do not know what it would take to shock me now.
All I can do is agree with those above, and say it's good to see that people here have the courage of their convictions and are not going to allow themselves to be hounded off a public forum. Well done Jackie, well done Alan, and well done Mr Bamborough, it's good to have you back!
Finally, hear, hear to archangel's quote, which should strike a chord with all like-minded people.
