My ResignationI would like to notify all readers of this forum that as of Monday 15th May, 2006, I have officially resigned from the Board of Governors of Marton School.
I would like to thank everyone who has supported me over the 14 years I have been a Governor, since the school first opened. I have made many acquaintances over that time, and many good friends too.
My postion as Governor has become untenable following recent events and unfortunately I believe I can no longer perform an effective role on the Board.
Thank you again.

Dean, as a parent of children who shared many years at Marton, I would just like to say "thank you" for everything you did whilst acting as a Governor of the school. You had and still have the best interest of all the children at heart, and you were very much part of the Marton family which many of us enjoyed for many years. It is a pity yet fully understandable that you feel your position is untenable, having witnessed some of the terrible attitudes you and your family have had to endure in recent times,I only hope you will continue to strive to put Marton back to the top of the pile, irrespective of who may try to stand in your way !!!!!!!!!!

Sad NewsThis is very sad news for Marton after giving so much time and effort to the school over a long period of time. Perhaps not recently by some, but the people who count have valued your help, support and friendship. This is a big loss for Marton school at this crucial time, but I, like Wayne, hope that you can continue to make your presence felt.

sad newsI am sorry I have not kept up with who is governing the school etc, but do know that it is the governers who help to shape a school.
Could I be very nosey and ask exactly why your resigning, is it due to confliction with staff/head teacher or other governers?
Do you have children at the school and would you consider moving them?
It is it would seem just one big mess, parents should be called in for another meeting to keep us updated.

i too am very sad that you have reached this decision, but i totally agree with your reasons. you were an asset to Marton but after witnessing your treatment at the meeting held last year i can only imagine what you may have experienced since. As a parent of a child at marton i wish you all the best and hope you have the opportunity to carry on with the positive work you have done for the school.

Thank you for your messages.
In response to concernedmum, I do have reasons for my resignation but this forum would not be the correct place to air them. I am in the process of pursuing those reasons with the CSA.
I think it is important to point out that there are some good people on the Governing Body at Marton. I truly believe that all have what they believe is the best interest of the school at heart, The problem is that they suffer the same as we all have of not knowing exactly what is going on. Whatever mistakes are made, I would never lay blame at the Governing Body's door.
In answer to your second point, I don't currently have any children in the school. My son started in Reception the year the school opened and my daughter left at the end of summer 2005. My twins who are now 4, however, will be going to Hawes Side School.
