Mike Turner LetterI would like to state that the was incorrect info in Mike Turner's letter to parents last week. He said he has never seen a complaint. If this is true then the scores of complaint letters that have been sent to the school - either to governors or the Head have been deliberately kept from him, or this is not true. I know of several people who HAVE sent complaint letters to the school.

complaintsSandra,
I was told that complaints should be marked confidential and sent to the Headteacher. This was because the Governors address is confidential.
I chose another option and wrote to my MP.
I'll let you know what happens.
Good Luck.

GovernorsInteresting to read these posts. I sent a complaint and a list of questions to Mr. Turner via the school on Friday. (See copy in Governor's section).
Wonder what response I'll get?
I have contacted Governornet to ask what would be a reasonable amount of time to wait for a reply.

complaint lettersIf the Chair of Governors has stated that he has never seen a complaint letter, then he should perhaps speak to David Lund, who, on Radio Wave publicly said that he had a file of complaint letters which had been dealt with.
It is on record.
Somebody seems to be covering something up.
Will there be a statement issued to correct the misleading information in the Chairmans Letter of last week?

I know of at least 6 people who have sent letters of complaint to the governors since September 2004, so somebody's not telling the truth here. Some even got replies, although that was a while ago. Replies seem to be a thing of the past now.
If anybody wants to send a letter to the current Chair of Governors, his address is in last year's governors report to parents. In case you haven't got that any more I'll post his address below:
Mike Turner
21 Lightburne Avenue
St Annes
FY8 1JE
I'm sure he would be pleased to hear from anybody with any genuine concerns. If anyone would like to share their letters to Mr Turner with readers of this website, then we could also be updated on who has had responses. This might be useful to Mr Turner when he sends out his next letter to parents. He won't have to look back through a file to see whether there were any complaints ( those that have been sent up to now have obviously gone missing). He can count them up on the website.

LettersThis is shocking! I have wrote 4 letters and never received any replies. I rang school and the phone was hung up when I demanded answers!
To be honest I am now too scared of writing again, especially if I include the name of my child ...
I think the only way forward is to write to MP's??
Sorry, but I have lost all faith in all school staff and all the governers!
I am not really a memeber of this action group! I just want answers!
The more we dont get answers the more concerned I become. What are this people hiding?
Has anyone contacted the LEA? If so, what happened?

Action Group and AnswersThis is a message for Stan, but it also applies to anyone else who is experiencing similar frustrations:
I represent the Marton School Action Group, and in its turn, the Action Group represents YOU! There are no “ members” as such – no rules, other than a healthy respect for those who wish to remain anonymous. Like Stan, I was angry at what I saw happening to my son’s school – and I realised that there were a good many other parents out there who felt just the same way. But I also realised that the contempt for voices like mine, that came out of the mouths of Ruth Coupe and David Lund, would be a good deal less if we all banded together, pooled our knowledge and skills, and mounted a structured campaign to get a proper solution.
Since the Action Group became a name to identify those parents, staff and friends of the school who shared a common voice, we have seen our MP take a personal interest in what is happening at Marton Primary School, we have seen near panic from the likes of Coupe, Lund, and Turner as they are constantly being attacked in the press, and on the web-site, and we have discovered further powerful friends elsewhere, who are now starting to ask questions themselves(!) We also have further resources available to us – educational experts who have been able to analyse material prepared for the OFSTED inspectors, and others that are still on the secret list – as we compile an official complaint to put to the Government itself.
There is too much detail to put in this message about the progress being made in the name of the Action Group – but if anyone reading this post genuinely wishes to ensure that Marton Primary School can be restored to the happier state it was in prior to September 2004, then simply send me an e-mail, and I will add your address to our distribution list. There is no charge! You can remain anonymous if you like – it’s up to you.
Whatever you do – don’t give up! We are closer to a breakthrough than you think!

Complaint to Chair of GovernorsI have just received a reply from Governornet who suggest that 14 days is ample time to await a reply to my questions to Mr Turner.
They then suggested that if I wasn´t satisfied to send the questions to the LEA !! What a laugh !
Do parents actually have any rights in education ? The system seems structured to protect those who are in control.
Thanks for the Chairman´s address - I will send another copy of my letter there. Perhaps what I sent to school didn´t reach him for some reason.
