Meetings, Meetings - and Answers!

Several things:

First, a reminder that the meeting on Thursday evening is OPEN TO ALL. That includes anyone who has an interest in Marton Primary School. There are no tickets to issue, and no bouncers on the door. While Monday’s meetings at the school were called to particularly focus on the Post-OFSTED report, this one is in response to numerous calls for parents to have a meeting where they can be given answers to long outstanding questions, and to voice their opinions on what they understand to be happening at the school. While Mrs Coupe and Mr Lund have both been invited, they have both declined. However, besides attending one of the meetings at school on Monday, I also met with Gordon Marsden, MP last week, and had a lengthy discussion last night with David Lund. I hope that the feedback I can give you from those meetings will be helpful to you, and that you will find some answers there. There will also be others there to speak on their own knowledge and experience, and all of you will be given an opportunity to express your views, time allowing.

I must add that the Marton School Action Group has been formed as a representative body for parents of children, past and present, and that we do not condone intimidation or abusive threats by anyone, including the Head Teacher. I am glad that “Best School” has dispelled the myth that only those who are complaining about Mrs Coupe get their voices heard on the web-site (as was expressed by one parent on Monday). I would also hope that this particular contributor does attend our Open meeting, and feels comfortable enough to voice their own opinions after hearing the facts that will be presented.

One final observation – I heard today from the lady responsible for hiring the hall to us that an anonymous male had phoned her to try and talk her out of letting the hall for this meeting! I wonder why? The only answer I can think of is that there is someone out there who is worried about what may happen as a result of this meeting taking place. Who could that be? I will leave you to ponder on that one, and I look forward to seeing you at the meeting.
