Marton Beats National Target

Labour's policy of reducing infant class sizes has had no greater success than at Marton. Last week in the Nursery there were 5 children with a senior teacher and 2 support staff. What fantastic staff to pupil ratios.
It doesn't quite add up that Parents are not being tempted to send children to Marton with such fantastic staffing ratios. It also doesn't add up that these ratios can be afforded when other Blackpool schools had to make redundancies this summer.
Come on Mr Lund, what is happening?

Nursery numbers

This figure, Jackie, must be very worrying for the school and LEA. If the Nursery was full there should be 26 children attending in the morning and 26 children attending in the afternoon. The falling rolls situation in Blackpool cannot possibly account for such a drop. At this rate, in a few years time Marton will not be viable as an educational establishment and will have to close.
What a tragedy for a school which, for 12 years, was one of Blackpool's best !
