Leaflets at school

The Local Authority (and not just the Education Sector) has received many complaints from parents who claim they were accosted outside school this week and had a leaflet thrust in their face.

Some parents rang the Police.

Some parents rang the School.

The leaflet contains a breach of copyright and appears threatening.

Is this the way to go Action Group? Now you're just alienating the people you're trying to get onside.

The end is in sight.

Andrew, another piece of propaganda, if the parents were in fact " accosted outside school this week and had a leaflet thrust in their face" why have they not come onto this forum to register the anger and frustration. If I am correct didn't the leaflet contain the forum's address, most of them have to date, or have you become the spokesman for the silent masses.
You quote breach of copyright, yet give no examples, please feel free to explain just how copyright laws were breached, after doing some research, I think the handing out of these leaflets was quite lawful, please correct me if I am wrong.
Oh and finally, I also heard the police came to school, but I am also led to beleive that it wasn,t the parents who called them !!!
looking forward to your reply !!

How lovely to be blissfully ignorant of what is really going on at Marton School. Those parents who supposedly complained to Blackpool Authority have got their priorities all wrong. Perhaps if they took more time to actually read the leaflets and look into some of the points on them they would realise that there are far more serious issues going on, than being offered a piece of paper in the street.

As for copyright being breached, that's rich in view of the so called investigation into the leaked confidential documents - we don't seem to have any conclusion to the investigation yet, six months down the line. I suppose it's the usual tactic from the local Authority - delay, delay and yet more delay. I can't say I'm holding my breath for the result. If past experience is anything to go by, things will be neatly swept under the ever expanding carpet.

I'm sure the police were very worried about the serious threat to the public.I hope they put their sirens on to race to the scene.Looking back through this forum it seems the police have been frequently used as a threat by certain people.I wonder why?

i was one of the parents who received a leaflet outside school. i was simply handed a leaflet, no-one thrust one in my face and i didn't see it being done to any other parents. All i saw were 2 people handing out leaflets, they were stood on different roads so nobody could of felt threatened. Everywhere you go someone is handing out a leaflet or flier advertising this new product or promotion, it is just a common event.
Why would anyone ring the police? I find this very strange under the circumstances. I must remember this next time anyone smiles at me and hands me some advertising leaflet.
Just to clarify for those who may be sceptical, i have posted several times on this site but no-one from the 'action group' has ever met me, so they would not of known who i was when handing me a leaflet and i did not comment on anything.

Leaflet

I think the time is long past for trying to get people 'onside'. The leaflet was simply making aware of things which have happened over which the authority took no action.
There is no threat inherent in the leaflet, Andrew - just the promise that some people won't stop pointing out to the authority that there are still issues to be dealt with openly and honestly, which the school and officials clearly do not wish to happen.
As for copyright issue - the Dr Who clipart can be found through Fortune City's links for Dr Who clipart - available copyright free to download. The Tardis and Blackpool lights pictures are available on many sites. The teacher image was taken from a free disk on a computer mag.
If you would like to point to another source, Andrew, which proves it is not in actual fact copyright free you will need to notify Fortune City which hosts the link. Also let us know and we will attempt to recall all the leaflets.

Meanwhile, for those who might have missed the leaflet you can view it at :-

leaflet

Andrew, I too witnessed the leaflet being handed out. I was present the whole time the leaflets were being handed out. They were being handed out by two men, on different streets. They politely asked parents/gaurdians/etc... if they would like a leaflet. They were in no way intimidating anyone. When told that the powers that be inside school wern't happy and were going to come out, rather than have a confrontation, they left.
They didn't leave because they were in the wrong, they left because although they knew they were quite legally able to distribute the "political" leaflets (following legal advice), some governers, teachers, police and school staff seemed to believe they were breaking the law. It would not suit the Action Group to have a big row outside of school at this moment so they wisely chose to leave. Besides, they had already handed out about 250 leaflets and only had a few left. It was most interesting to see the disapointment on one or faces when they discovered the leafleters had left!!!!!

As for the content of the leaflet. It wasn't libelous, it didn't infringe any known copyrights and had a website address for people who wernt happy to contact. So no problems there either.

As far as I am aware, this leaflet drop and the leafleting of the area the previous couple of days is only the very beginning of a six week campaign that should prove very illuminating to many people, esp in Progress House!
