A friend of mine teaches in a Blackpool school... One day last week thefocus of gossip got round to unions, head teachers and then onto the recent events at Marton...
yesterday my friend was called to the head. He informed her that if this topic came up in conversation again then she could be in serious trouble with the LEA!! He stated that as far as the LEA were concerned any incidents at MArton were now solved... Case closed!
She states that noting incriminating (names etc..)were ever mentioned; it was just general chit chat about what had been in the paper etc... ?
My firend has never been in trouble at work before and once worked very closely with the LEA in Blackpool!!
What is going on??
I know that other council employees use this site and discuss events at marton - my advice would be to be very, very careful!

What is happening ?
I really don't understand what is going on here. I think this is the opinion too, of the vast majority of people who view this site.
How can the authority think everything is solved ? Why do they think all the fuss will just go away. I realise that society is not what it used to be but there are still educated, caring people out there who DO care about what goes on at Marton and cannot just sit back and let it happen.
None of the questions posed on this site, in letters, in the press, have ever been answered - nor even attempted to be answered. It is obvious now that too many points made by Mr Veale, the action group and the people who have posted on this site have hit too close to home. Too many people are guilty of neglect, abuse of authority or simply want to protect their own positions.
Look how blinkered Marton's own chair of governors has been. He sends one sided letters to parents in open support of the status quo - completely ignoring genuine questions by people who he should also be representing. Completely ignoring for example the vast amounts of money being thrown away through mis-management. He doesn't seem to realise that as Chair he must also take responsibilty for this waste. Whatever the action group has been accused of, this waste of money certainly has nothing whatever to do with them. Whatever Mr Turner states he cannot cover up this fact.
Councillors too are also clearly embarrassed to actually face up to things. How can an authority have become so corrupt so quickly ? Perhaps the move away from Lancashire installed too many people in important positions who were there to further careers rather than to really care about what goes on in our primary schools.
The REAL worry now is how many other primary schools are there suffering like Marton but where news of events and issues are being kept suppressed by the LEA ?

I think the people in power are fully aware that we are powerless! They presume that many people will just give up because they see that there is no way of changing things. We are right - you are wrong ... Now go away!
My friend expressed how it was made clear to her that she had no right whatsoever to question the LEA. It appears that to question your superiors is an act of misconduct. Proved of course by the action taken to silence / suspend Mrs Alderton who dared to question what was happening!
FACT: The phrase "Remember what happened to Mrs Alderson", has been used in school to question anyone else that has since dared to question theLEA / Mrs Coupe.
What worries me most is the Gazzette. WHat has emerged is a good case for some investigational journalism. Someone to demand answers... yet what we get is the Gazzette asking the LEA a few questions then fully supporting the line spun by the LEA and school!
