I have not posted on here before and probably wont again because I do not want to get into any debates regarding what I am going to say. I have read every post on this forum and would like to clarify a quote taken from a posting by R Thornton "[i]last week a child in the after school group was found to be viewing a hard core pornography site[/i]."
This is absolutely not true. In fact I will tell you how to look at what they saw. Go on google images and type in robbie williams and you will see a picture of robbie in the nude but not actually showing his private parts. Although I agree that this is not acceptable for the children to be viewing I would certainly not call it a "hard core pornography site."
I would ask people who are posting on here to be sure of their facts before they decide to post things like this.

This was not the site in question. I knew of this incident also - but like you did not think it could be classed as pornography.
Check around if you like, or view other posts by others (not me) concerning the porn site.

However, I still do not think the systems can be secure enough for a child to be able to download nude images of Robbie Williams - and am surprised that you do.

I checked myself last week on Lancashire's policy - such instances could not happen on their 'walled garden' system. Please ring Lancashire IT centre to confirm what I have to say.

Unless closely supervised my personal view is that children should not be allowed to use open search engines such as Google. Lancashire and many other authorities use 'child safe search engines such as AJKids. The after-school club could have used these.

I do check everything before I post - I do not expect people to believe things just because I say so as you seem to accuse. I will provide any evidence or links you need to support any of my comments. You will know this if you have indeed read all my other posts.

So the sooner the authority sort out Marton's 'leaks' the better - I am sure that you agree on that. Ofsted did point out IT as a weakness, perhaps also a dedicated course for ALL staff, not just teachers might be needed if you were not aware of precautions that can be taken. If you are not staff, but a parent then I am surprised you do not know of them if you have children surfing.

I can confirm that what R Thornton says is true, albeit that it didn't happen last week but more like 2/3 weeks ago.
In fact the site in question has still not been banned. It is definitely 'hard core'. If you wish I will send you a Private Message explaining the full details of what happened.
I also know about the incident of the Robbie Williams image, which was after the above mentioned incident. There have been several other instances like this over the last year.
I would ask you to speak to the After School staff if you are concerned about things. If they deny anything has happened please let me know as this would be totally untrue and I would arrange for the matter to be pursued.
