Homework

Last week homework was for once, sent home for year 5 children (a very rare occurance).Would it be really naive of us to expect it to marked. No such luck, the numeracy was ticked(in red) and stamped MARKED BY SUPPLY TEACHER? even though teachers are in post.BUT WORSE WAS TO COME.The literacy homework received the same stamp but with no evidence of it being marked what so ever.Several parents have been informed that Mrs Houghtan uses this stamp on childrens work without even bothering to look at it.HOW CAN OUR CHILDREN POSSIBLY LEARN IF WORK IS NOT EVEN GIVEN BASIC TEACHER ATTENTION BY BEING MARKED AND GIVEN APPROPRIATE GUIDANCE.
We would urge all parents to check that their childrens work is being marked and not just stamped and that appropriate assessment and guidance is given .CHECK BOOKS AT PARENTS EVENING AND MAKE SURE THAT NONE ARE MISSING!Considering all the adverse publicity the school is receiving We wonder just how much worse it can get.I understand that the head has been made aware of this situation.
