From an 11 year old ex-pupilThis is Alan Veale. You have already heard from me, and from Jane. As parents, we have our natural concerns about what is happening, and what DID happen at Marton School. We are not the only ones affected. The following is my daughter's viewpoint, in her own words:
Last year when I was in year 6, my headteacher was Mrs Coupe. At that moment in time, I thought that everything was happy in some parts even though it sometimes wasn't a good atmosphere. Some problems did occur to me:
On the last week Mrs Alderson wasn't here and we were told she was off on personal reasons. At the leavers disco I asked the Deputy Head if she had been suspended (someone had told me and I wanted to know the REAL truth). She told me:"No where did you get that from, she's off on personal reasons." I had been lied to AGAIN. Then I was REALLY upset when she didn't come back on the last day.
She was a great teacher at PGL, and she asked me before hand:"Who's room are you going to be in, I know that alot of your friends are boys." I really liked her for that. I had good times with her, even though she wasn't my real class teacher.
I then hear the TRUTH!
I am also angry about what I've heard, and am concerned about OTHER stories. My brother is still there and I want him to be in a GREAT school with a GREAT atmosphere like it used to be, and he's still got another year to go.
