Mr Lund’s letter at the start of the summer holidays certainly drew my attention to Council issues and this forum. I have perused the forum over the summer with shocked interest, and a few events seem to tie in.
I remember when my child was due to start Year 6 at Marton, but then her proposed Teacher ‘disappeared’ a week before the end of term. Many other staff left around that time also. Recently at the end of last school year at my daughter’s school St Georges, another very long serving teacher ‘disappeared’. Mr Miller was there one day in June, but the next had apparently ‘retired’. Lots of rumours amongst parents and no honest answers.
I have read in the local paper recently that a Council employee was unhappy at their work, their problems were ignored, so the employee committed suicide.
A terrible picture is building of the council’s lack of care to its employees – ruining lives. This view is compounded by all I have read on this forum. Mr Lund, whose name is frequently highlighted as being responsible for the shambles at Marton, due to ignoring parents and employees, should be ashamed.
These leaders of Blackpool council are undeserving of their positions.
Thankyou to those who have exposed these stories.
Martyn, There have been many incidents of keeping things quiet. If you look back through these pages you will see that David Lund has been involved in an awful lot of unusual goings on at Marton.
David Lund had been well aware of a supply teacher who was removed from the school for looking at inapropriate material whilst in charge of a class full of infants. No explanation was given to parents.
Nathan Hill the ICT Technician used photographs of himself and school children on an adult website. No explanation has been given to parents.
There have been numerous incidents of school children accessing porn before parents complaints were finally acted upon. After this, one Education Adviser, Steve Colling suddenly left his job. No explanation has been given to parents.
As Mr Veale has stated, documents relating to Marton have been discovered where they shouldn't have been. Still there is no honest answer from the Council. No explanation has been given to parents.
The police have been involved in much of what has gone on. In fact David Lund himself has been questioned by police about certain allegations at Marton. _________________ The tide is turning
I told you so ,may be a start. Most of have yet to wake up the reality of the high level of corruption and wrong doings that is collectivly called Blackpool council. Until people unite in a substantial way it will not only continue, BUT it WILL escalate at an alarming rate I assure you. There is still an opportunity for people power to make a difference, but please dont delay any longer.
Alan Veale and others have taken the polite genltemans approach, basicaly it hasnt gained them a great deal. How much respect do they realey feel they have gained. This is serious ateacher has committed suiside rather than the processes that should have given him the FAIRhearing of his greivences, this mans silence is now deafening. Can you hear?????

I have just had pointed out to me that it wasnt the teacher mentioned in the previous post who committed suiside but the council worker. I acknowledge the error on my part at reading the post in haste, but I stand firm with the seriousness of things amoungst this council! G _________________ What cannot speak..... cannot lie!
i agree with many of your sentiments giselle, but we have and will continue to reach as many people as we can by posting on this site, etc. whilst it can be a slow process we are doing all we can in a legal and peaceful manner. it would help no-one to be aggressive or threatening.
if many were to speak it would help, but unfortunately from the start many have been silenced through intimidation, fear or by blindly following those that appear to be the victim. Sadly by staying silent further damage has been done including the loss of a great number of experienced and dedicated staff. for many they can not speak out after publicly showing their support for the current leadership.
I hope within time they will speak up, and we can all help raise marton back to the school it was prior to the current head.
A family/community school where all were welcome and nothing was too much trouble for anyone. the head was always available to answer any questions from anyone, always a friendly face. It is never too late and as time goes on more information comes out. time will tell......
