This message was received on October 12th

Our first encounter with Mrs Coupe was within the first week of her starting at the school. We found her to be unapproachable and very condescending. Since then we have have spoken mainly to Mrs Brooks. She has managed to solve a few of our issues with the school. We are at the moment very concerned about our children’s education and indeed welfare, surely somebody must be able to help the parents with the answers we are surely entitled to. Our eldest child is in year six and we have had nothing but problems since starting back at school. The teacher causing all of these is Mrs Bladen, whom as of today, has been relieved of her duties at the school. However, this now causes other problems as the class is to be taught by Mrs Norbury and whilst I am not questioning her ability as a teacher, she will only be teaching them until yet another supply teacher will be appointed and how long they will be there for is anybody’s guess. This is a very important year for all of the children and I can’t help but think that this could seriously damage their sats results. I can only hope that somebody in the governing body can be responsible enough to care about all of the children’s education (not only year six)and kindly relieve Mrs Coupe of her current duties at Marton school, and let our children go back to being confident and happy about going to school instead of worrying about getting into trouble over silly trivial things. It seems more like a juvenile detention centre rather than a school. Don’t get me wrong, there are still a few teachers that can teach, but the majority of them are either too scared to stand up to this woman or are as much of a control freak as Mrs Coupe is herself. Unless things change sooner rather than later I to will have no option but to pull all four of my children out of the school. I say this with much sadness, and I am praying that it will not come to this. Maybe we can persuade the much missed Mrs Lancaster to come out of retirement and get Marton school back on track!

If only we could get Lynn Lancaster back, but alas there is no chance of that, as you say, another teacher in year 6,its a great shame for the kids as its they who are going to suffer, come to the meeting on thursday 20th and voice your concerns, you may be surprised to find out that you really are not on your own.

I heard that Mrs Blaydon was off on Monday and Mrs Norbury was in the class. One of the children said that Mrs Norbury was in that class all week. Imagine our surprise then when Mrs Blaydon was back in class on Tuesday. No wonder the children don't know where they are, never mind the staff!
I wonder whether Mrs Blaydon's return (for one day) was so that Mrs Norbury could be fulfilling her Special Needs duties when David Lund escorted Andy Mitchell from Radiowave around school in a big PR exercise!! It wouldn't look too good if the Special Needs Teacher was teaching in class, especially as so much emphasis had been placed on Mrs Norbury's important work with small groups of children.
I now hear that Mrs Norbury is in 6A for the forseeable future. Can anybody tell me who will be taking over Mrs Norbury's Special Needs duties during this time? Or is it something else to be brushed under the carpet? The rules seem to be changed according to how convenient they happen to be at the time.
These changes cannot be good for any of the children. They need stability and continuity, and at the moment they are getting neither. I hope, when we have the meeting, we either get some answers or we can establish a way of getting Marton School back to how it was, with the least possible further disruption.
IN ALL MY YEARS OF TEACHING I HAVE NEVER SEEN SUCH A BIG CHANGE IN A SCHOOL IN SO SHORT A TIME - AND NOT ONE THING FOR THE BETTER!
