Following his continued resistence to dealing with the issues raised by teachers, parents and other concerned parties and also his recent comments during a staff meeting, should the Chair of Governors step down.

Please complete the poll and ensure any posts you make on this topic are respectful and do not use abusive or defamatory content.

Yes - he has no choice. Either that or the rest of the governors issue a vote of no confidence.

I believe that Mr Turner should resign as I feel he has been led a merry dance to date,it is ok to voice your opinion so long as you look at the evidence put before you with an open mind,to criticise parents who he is meant to have the best interests of ,beggers belief,to criticise a elected councillor in an open meeting in unprofessional, and to blantantly be disrespectful to anyone who has an alternative point of view is woeful.Mr Turner please stand down.

Of course he should resign. He obviously does not know what the role of Chair of Governors is. I want to vote but can't see how to.

Mr Turner, I think has no option but to go, he has handled things very badly and if he doesn't resign he should be removed.

But then when has the right thing been done at Marton over the last 17 months ?

I can't believe it has took everyone so long to raise this topic. It never even occurred to me, you take it at face value that the chair of governors would have the childrens and parents best interests above all else. With the number of newsletters that have appeared with his signature on it, itdoesn't appear to be the case. He could believe in all that is said. But is that not the main point of his post, to gather all the evidence available and decide what is in the best interests of both the children and parents of the school. Not to dictate what anyone should think or what evidence should be brought to light(and given in newsletters). If you are to quote what has appeared on the website please quote it in full, not a few words to suit your needs in a letter issued to all.

Of course he should step down. He is being set up for a fall. When this does finally get resolved the council will do what they always do, blame someone else. In this case the Chair of Governors. No doubt they will eventually say they have learned leassons from this, they have changed procedures etc. etc.
Don't make things any worse for yourself Mr Turner. Follow the example of your last Liberal leader.

He cannot be allowed to carry on as Chairman. He has abused his position and also the rights of the teachers. I don't think that Mrs Coupe has done the right thing in allowing talk of grievances either when some of the teachers might have been witnesses. The authority needs to do something now becuase it is sending all the wrong signals to all the other schools in Blackpool.
I hope that the teachers who posted on this site are O.K. after posting.
