I have reported the incident regarding the school notice board to Mr Lund who assures me that it will be investigated.
He has also assured me that having spoken to both the teacher and non-teacher unions, both are prepared to listen confidentially to the concerns of staff and support them where necesssary.
I do understand that some teaching staff feel that certain trade unions may have a conflict of interest. If this is the case, please do not hesitate to contact me directly, in confidence on marton@anchorsholme.com
I'm glad that Mr Lund has said that this incident will be investigated. Sadly, this is very much a case of too little, too late.
Mr Lund has been given endless opportunities, over the last two years, to investigate the intimidation and bullying that has been allowed to go on in Marton School. He chose to ignore it, despite pleas from staff, parents and other concerned bodies. In fact, wasn't it Mr Lund himself, who told staff at the end of last term, that if they didn't like what was going on, they could look elsewhere for a job? Is that the answer to the problems? Of course it isn't. It's simply another example of brushing everything under the carpet, pretending nothing has ever happened, getting rid of any dissenters and carrying on, regardless.
I'm sure I don't need to log, once again, the long list of casualties of this sort of regime. The list can be found elsewhere on this forum. Each time it is printed, it is a little longer.
Shameful. _________________ Listen to the facts and decide for yourself
So Mr Lund has invited teachers, via a councillor, to contact their Unions if they feel they are unhappy. A good example of a council that does not care about its staff.
Will he be writing to staff to tell them that? Will he be inviting parents to write to Councillors if they are unhappy with the School, Teachers, Governors?
Maybe he would have a bit more credibility if he commented on some of the issues that have been put to him over the last year or more?
Will he comment on the alleged six grievances against the Head?
Will he comment on the reason for only 14 children entering the nursery when there is provision for over 50?
If we believe some of the comments posted after his visits to school, it appears that he has warned staff about rocking the boat, by speaking to the press or radio.
Will he comment on the number of children leaving the school in the new term?
Will he comment on why St Nicholas School is expanding and costing the tax payer money when Marton is shrinking and costing even more money?
Will he maybe consider addressing the cause of the problems that Marton faces through a bit of pro-active management instead of reacting to Coucillors pleas to get it sorted?
Well done Jon Bamborough for asking the question, but it seems a sad affair when the boss doesn't know what is happening in one of his schools.
