I see that things have been quiet lately on this forum.
That isn't the case for the Authority or the school. There are many different problems going around FY4 4US. David Lund, it would seem, has tried to take a less visible roll since the heat was really on him.
Somebody has been told to back off.
The nonsense report that was recently in the local paper that said the Council was trying to save £300k, was laughable. They have spent, or should that be, wasted, more than £300k on Marton alone. There are still a number of investigations going on into the conduct of certain council employees.
There have also been a number of casualties in the council and it looks like there could be yet more. So keep watching folks.

Just to let everyone know the good news - just because there is a lull of a few days without posts on the website, it doesn't mean that there's not plenty of work going on to fight for the cause.
We're well aware of the ongoing problems - rest assured that we will not rest until Marton returns to its former glory. Laughing

For the benefit of anyone who has been wondering, the following statistics may be of interest:

Since the Action Group was formed (October 2005), over 70 children have been removed from the school by their parents, over a dozen members of staff have left as a direct result of their dissatisfaction with the school management, around half a dozen official complaints have been made against the head teacher, the chair of Governors or both, two of our Member’s of Parliament have been approached and have intervened in an attempt to resolve issues at the school, and over a hundred letters have been written by myself and other members of the Action Group in an effort to reach a satisfactory conclusion. How should we interpret those figures?

That is the present situation.

But there is more to come. For that reason meetings of Action Group members are now taking a more “formal” structure, with monthly meetings to review progress. I would therefore be pleased to hear from anyone who wishes for any particular topic to be discussed at our February meeting. While our members are in constant touch with sources inside the school, the local authority and other associated areas, we are always interested to hear from anyone with a genuine interest, not only in Marton Primary School, but also in any related matters affecting schools in the Blackpool catchment area. We are aware how certain schools have been adversely affected as a direct result of the problems within the LEA over Marton, and would welcome any contact from persons who feel they have something relevant for us to discuss.

Please use the private message facility below, and I will be happy to respond as soon as practical.
