Staff Member Oct 1, 05 Hoping and Praying
I am a member of staff at Marton Primary school.
Since September it has been lovely working at the school, there has been no atmosphere, like there was last year and I am hoping and praying that Mrs Alderson does not return to the school. I can assure the concerned parents on this site that this is the feeling of the majority of the staff. Good luck Ruth, I hope al this works out in your favour and you can get on with your job.
By the way I have not been gagged or brainwashed.

That's odd, and doesn't really tie up with the comment about the supply teacher leaving because (and I quote) "she couldn't stand the atmosphere in school". It's also at odds with the comments I've had from three very unhappy members of staff within the last 24 hours - staff who worked very happily under the previous headteacher. And as a parent who goes way back, I only need to walk in school now to notice the deterioration in atmosphere. The majority of parents agree with me. Why else would they be moving their children out in droves. No, staff member, I'm afraid you'll have to do better than that to convince those of us with eyes, ears and minds of our own.

I am also a staff member and I would like to say I can't wait for Bev Alderson to return. She is a teacher who has always acted in a professional way, with honesty and integrity, and with the interests of the children and the school behind everything she does. She went out of her way to look after NQTs and make sure they were coping in a new situation. She acted on behalf of all staff members. She formed good relationships with children and parents, and has an excellent teaching record going back twenty years. How that previous staff member can say the atmosphere in school is good I do not know. I dread going in to work each day and I have never felt like this before.

Dear Staff Member
Glad that some staff have started posting. I have read this website thoroughly and think you're the first brave teacher to post. I'm interested to hear teachers' points of view. Why do you hope Mrs Alderson doesn't return?

I really fail to see what makes staff member so brave - because she has posted with a point of view? The real brave people are the people who have posted under their own names. The others are obviously too scared to do so - for whatever reason, and whatever their point of view.

I TO AM A STAFF MEMBER AT MARTON AND I HAVE RECENTLY BEEN TO MY DOCTORS AS I AM FINDING IT MORE AND MORE DIFFICULT TO BRING MYSELF TO GO TO WORK HE HAS GIVEN ME ANTI-DEPRESSENTS TO HELP ME COPE BUT TO BE HONEST IM NOT SURE HOW MUCH LONGER I CAN PUT UP WITH WHAT HAS HAPPENED AND IS STILL HAPPENING AT THE SCHOOL. WHISPERING, LOCKED DOORS, THREATS ETC.ALWAYS LOOKING OVER YOUR SHOULDER I HAVE ALWAYS KEPT MY HEAD DOWN AND GOT ON WITH MY JOB BUT IT IS JUST GETTING TO HARD IT DOSE NOT FEEL LIKE A PRIMARY SCHOOL ANY MORE, MORE LIKE A PRISON WHERE YOUR EVERY MOVE IS CLOCKED WHO YOU SPEAK TO, WHO YOU LEAVE THE BUILDING WITH,WHO YOU SIT WITH IN THE STAFF ROOM AND THESE PEOPLE WHO ARE MAKING MY LIFE HELL AT WORK ARE THE HEADS SUPPORTERS NOT MRS ALDERSONS SUPPORTERS WHO I THINK MUST FEEL AS BAD IF NOT WORSE THAN I DO.SO ANYONE WHO CAN HELP US SILENT ONES PLEASE DO IT.

Staff member thanks for your post, your opinions are valuable as anyones, but I do hope you show the children how to spell properly,ALL has two L's, funny how the staff only post at weekend, must be busy during the week eh !!

I was referring to the staff member as brave because we have been led to believe that all staff have been intimidated into not saying anything about what is going on.
Everybody's opinion is valid.
I'm interested to hear about the teachers who are happy at work. And why they don't think Mrs Alderson should return to work. Is this because of something specific that she did (what was it?), or something else?
