I thought I would share with you a conversation I overheard a few days ago. It was between a Governor and a parent. The governor said that they were worried about things that were going on. They had found more and more out over the last few months and now were in a quandary over what to do. Shocked They didn't go into what they details were as they said they couldn't disclose this. However, it certainly sounded like there was discontent amongst the ranks. Don't get me wrong she wasn't overly critical of anybody in particular. However they did definitely say that they didn't agree with what was happening and that things were badly wrong. Then they said that they were afraid to speak up and mentioned how others had been ostracised when they had questioned anything. Rolling Eyes
I would like to say to any other governors or members of staff who may be reading this that if you are feeling the same way you are not alone. Smile

That's reassuring. I know that many staff feel the same way, but because of the atmosphere in school, and because of what has happened over the last year or so, they are STILL frightened to speak up. Instead, what do they do, they huddle in corners, they phone each other out of school, and they keep their heads down in school, in case they might be the next one who is not flavour of the month, for some reason. Who do we turn to? Who can we trust? We just don't know any more.

For the information of billandben and teacherx – believe me, your contributions to this forum are worth their weight in gold to others like you directly affected by the present troubles in school. The facility to share our feelings, our beliefs and our knowledge can help us all to remember that we are never alone. While this forum has been condemned for its very existence by some, it does indeed provide an invaluable source of encouragement to all those who feel that “the system” has let them down.

What I would urge you all to remember is that the people who have been so quick to condemn both the forum, and those people posting anonymously, are really just a vindictive minority! Yes – they presently hold positions that allow them to exercise a degree of power – but thanks to the continuing growth of opposition to their influence, those same people are now desperately reaching out for anything to save their miserable necks.

The tide started to turn some weeks ago, when Mike Turner made a pathetic example of himself in trying to tell Marton staff how to think, and who they could not speak to. This man is Ruth Coupe’s champion – the best she could find! Oh dear me! Mr Turner has done our campaign no end of good by constantly shooting himself in the foot. And the tide is getting higher and higher. Rats are starting to leave for safer ground, and Mrs Coupe seems to have started to develop an allergy to water…

If you really want to know who to trust – do what some of the teaching staff did last July – speak to parents who genuinely want to see their children safe from the effects of Marton Maladministration. That is how I got involved myself. I could not stand by and see this wonderful school totally destroyed by outsiders who had no more interest than their own personal paypackets to promote. Speak to Councillor Bamborough. Speak to the DFES. You can not trust Coupe, Turner or Lund, but you CAN add your voice and your input to a campaign that will see each of these people sidelined or removed from their position in the very near future.
