I am a Governor at a Blackpool school. I have no connection to Marton School at all. I have read some of this site over recent weeks and been stunned at what is here.
I do feel for ALL concerned and would urge you all to try and find a way of resolving these problems.
It is not just your school that is suffering, every other school in Blackpool is feeling the pinch.
I have been informed by a contact in the Authority that money is being pumped into Marton School to prop it up at the cost to other schools.
I urge you ALL to resolve speedily.

It is indeed a great shame that kids throughout the blackpool area will no doubt suffer as a direct result of the LEA pumping money into Marton,we would love to resolve this dispute but the people pumping the money in do not want the Action Group to question any of their decision's. In my opinion the LEA should take a hard look at themselves and see what an absolute mess they have made of all this, The Action Group has facts not hearsay, the LEA do not want to listen,I believe the staff at school are very much divide, irrespective what theChairman of Governors says,Mr Lund agreed to work with the Action Group last October,it never happened, questions only last week were asked or attempted to be asked at a council meeting, but no, dont mention Marton, it is becoming a bad word in South Blackpool and only 2 years ago this school was getting publicity for all the right reasons,so finally,we do want to resolve the issues,I am just not to sure how quickly the LEA want to !!!
You say you are also a Governor at another school, would you see a colleague suspended for a period of 7 months without charge and do nothing, this is exactly why people are prepared to stand up and be counted,Marton school needs to be returned to the position it was in when Mrs Lancaster was the HEAD, WE CAN ONLY TRY

Apparently, Marton has received £20,000 extra alone to cover Mrs Aldersons suspension.......£20,000 the council could have spent on books and other resources....thats more than £40 for each child that attends Marton.
